This series of sessions is designed to offer education and enrichment for women's empowerment. The sessions will focus on:
Financial Health and Wellness
- Building and increasing Financial Literacy, Credit Management, Budgeting
- Building and increasing knowledge in Career Management
- Finding a Coach or Sponsor-We will talk about how!
- Looking for some guidance on tools, resources and first steps to entrepreneurship? We have got you covered!
Physical and Mental Health and Wellness
Each session will be led by experts from the Bay Area who will share knowledge and tools to help you become more empowered!
- Are you doing what you need to do, to ensure you are healthy – mind, body, soul and emotions?
- Let's get comfortable talking about Mental Health
- Are you inviting potential health issues by ignoring warning signs?
- Do you have questions about mental health?
Session I Topic: Financial Wellness: Start Right or Start Over!
Speaker: Machelle Maner, Vice President Community Developer, Wells Fargo Bank
Machelle Maner is currently Vice President, Community Development for Wells Fargo. As Sr. Community Development Officer, she covers Southwest Florida (a ten County Region). In this role, she is focused on the strategic development of public/private partnerships, the identification of programs available to expand lending opportunities for affordable housing and small businesses and identifying community and economic development opportunities. In addition, Machelle is responsible for investments in non-profit organizations that focus on housing, small business, and economic revitalization. Machelle has been in the financial services industry for more than 25 years with most of that time being in the Tampa Bay community. She has held positions in both the Consumer, Commercial, Marketing and Commercial Banking divisions and was promoted to Vice President in 1996. Since 1994, Machelle has specialized in Community programs with an emphasis on establishing community, housing and business partnerships in Southwest Florida.
In addition to other training, Machelle completed a Diversity Practitioner program to facilitate Diversity training sessions. She has served on several project teams within Wells Fargo and in the Community. Currently, Machelle Maner serves on the Board of Directors of several Non-Profit organizations including the Black Business Initiative Fund, Minority Enterprise Development Corporation and Computer Mentors Group. As the former chairperson of the Financial Stability Committee of United Way Suncoast, Machelle was instrumental in forming the Partners for Prosperity to increase the focus of financial stability of all families and individuals in Tampa Bay. She is an exceptional leader in our community and public speaker.
