Over the past year, YWCA Tampa Bay’s Institute for Social Justice has served more than 600 community participants.
The Institute’s goal is to increase awareness of key social issues among the general public, elected officials, community leaders and businesses, and to promote cooperation, collaboration and policy changes that create a more sensitive and just society.
YWCA Tampa Bay strives to eliminate racism and promote the economic empowerment of women by working with community partners and advocacy groups to host annual events such as the Stand Against Racism and our candlelight vigil observance for Week Without Violence.
In addition, the Institute’s Steps to Economic Security Program provides financial literacy classes and individual money-management coaching for women seeking to improve their economic security. To learn more about the Program, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
