|YWCA Tampa Bay is a non-profit community organization that is committed to improving social and economic conditions in our community. Our programs and services focus on furthering our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. At the same time, the YWCA strives to help all members of the community without limitations to race, gender, age, ethnicity or socioeconomic group. We work to achieve peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all people.|
Established locally in 1919, the YWCA historically has provided opportunities for women by offering safe housing, academic and job skills training, and leadership in organizing activities to advance women’s rights. Today, through child development and early learning and racial justice programs, YWCA Tampa Bay fosters economic independence among diverse women, harnesses community support for at-risk families, and promotes healing conversations about race.
